The American Gold Eagle was first released in 1986 and is the premiere choice of gold bullion investors across the world. With a purity of 22 karat gold the American Eagles are authorized by the United States Congress and backed by the U.S. Mint.

The obverse of this gorgeous coin depicts a modified rendition of the Saint Gaudens double eagle and the reverse depicts a family of eagles. The American Gold Eagle is one of the few coins that can be used to fund IRA accounts.
